The City of Foley has a fantastic education program for school children from throughout the region, as well as special events and a well designed outdoor classroom. One of the primary missions of Friends of Graham Creek Nature Preserve is to ensure that all children in the region have an opportunity to experience and learn about this habitat on site, in person. We'd love to see children better able to reach their potential through nature.
School Field Trips

We sponsor school field trips! Children from local schools are able to come for a day of education at the preserve. We cover transportation and substitute teachers, whatever is necessary to ensure a great trip. Our first sponsorship was for Perdido Elementary School.

Summer Camps

Thanks to generous donations from the community, we've supplied a dozen books about science and nature, musical instruments, and climbing equipment to support summer children's camps at the Preserve. We are so honored to be able to do this, and hope to continue to enhance children's' experience of nature at Graham Creek Nature Preserve.

Besides ordering books and equipment for both outdoor and indoor classes and educational items for the public, we have published a guide to our pitcher plant bog and treasure trees.
